The eighth Formula Student racing car of the TU Munich – the nb011 – was presented to the public on 21.06.2011. Since the beginning of the winter semester, it has been developed, constructed and then manufactured in the spring.

  • Quadruple adjustable Sachs Racing damper
  • Kinematic points precisely positioned by reworking the monocoque and 3D measurement on the rear of the car
  • Self-designed and manufactured CFRP rims 
  • ISR disc brake system with 4-piston calipers on the front axle and 2-piston calipers on the rear axle

    Vehicle Dynamics Control:

  • Slip control, Torque vectoring
  • Self-developed simulations and tools (lap time, multi-body, HiL, SiL, MiL, YMD, …)

Electronics

  • 2x high-speed CAN bus
  • MoTeC ADL3 data logger and driver display
  • Three-part wiring harness (own development)
  • Tire temperature sensors, current sensors, strain gauges, ride-height sensors, and much more.
  • Efficient battery management
  • In-house developed steering wheel control unit for controlling various functions (e.g. Traction control)
